About Sarah Bertran

Sarah joined HighWater Limited (“HighWater”) in July 2007. HighWater was established in January 2007 and is currently licensed by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority to carry on the business of company management. HighWater’s core business is the provision of independent directors and related services to the alternative investment industry. 

Sarah has over 27 years’ experience in the financial services industry in Cayman spending ten years at a large private bank as the Operations Manager and Head of Management Reporting and as an Account Manager at a Captive Insurance manager.

On joining Highwater in July 2007, Sarah was the Head of Finance for a large multi-strategy hedge fund manager that ultimately grew to $6.0 Billion in assets under management from offices in multiple jurisdictions. In addition, Sarah provided Human Resource and Financial support to Highwater and corporate services support across a diverse, multi-jurisdictional portfolio of Highwater clients with various investment strategies.

Sarah holds a BSc in Economics (Accounting) from Cardiff University and is a Certified Public Finance Accountant with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (“CIPFA”). She is also a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands.

Sarah has been involved in the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants Numeracy Support Program which provides classroom assistance to teachers in Mathematics lessons for young students; the Junior Achievement Program (geared towards assisting high-school students in the creation, running and dissolution of a business). She is also a pianist and violinist and has served as the Treasurer of the Cayman National Orchestra.
