The UBS APAC Hedge Fund Leaders Conference took place in Hong Kong last November, bringing together COOs, leaders, and managers of hedge funds from around the world.

Invited to speak on a panel at one of the event’s afternoon breakout sessions was Gary Linford, founder and managing director of HighWater.

“I was honoured to be invited to participate,” said Mr Linford. “This conference was a fantastic opportunity for HighWater to share insight on governance strategies and industry trends.”

Mr Linford was a member of a panel discussion entitled “Investor Demands: The Inside Story from a Fund Director”, and was joined by Richard Johnston and Mike Sales from Albourne Partners Asia and UBS Investment Bank, respectively.

Other sessions included a talk on managing reputation through social media, and a thought-provoking discussion on artificial intelligence and its impact on the future of hedge funds.

“As the world changes, it is important now more than ever for leaders in this industry to gather, learn, and share what we know,” said Mr Linford. “HighWater prides itself on its ability to embrace these new trends and collaborate globally with others. Sharing knowledge is always key.”
